The terms governing our services

Last updated: June 9, 2026

These terms govern the use of Costa del Alba Maritime Services Ltd crew placement services, training courses, and seafarer registration. By using our services you agree to be bound by them.

Crew Placement Services

Costa del Alba acts as an intermediary between seafarers and shipping operators. A placement engagement begins when both a seafarer and a shipping operator have confirmed acceptance of a proposed assignment in writing.

We endeavour to place only candidates whose certificates and documentation are current and valid. It remains the responsibility of the seafarer to maintain the validity of all certificates and to notify us immediately of any change in their medical, legal, or certification status.

Seafarer Registration

By registering with Costa del Alba, seafarers consent to their profile and documentation being shared with prospective employers for the purpose of crew placement. We will not share your details with any party for any other purpose without your consent.

Registration does not guarantee a placement. We maintain the right to remove seafarers from our active pool where certificates cannot be verified or where conduct during a placement reflects poorly on our standards.

Training Enrolment

Enrolment on a training course is confirmed upon receipt of full payment or a confirmed deposit where applicable. Cancellations made more than 14 days before a course start date will receive a full refund or credit transfer. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable.

Costa del Alba reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course where minimum enrolment numbers are not met, where equipment is unavailable, or for reasons of force majeure. In such cases, enrolled students will be offered a full refund or a transfer to the next available intake.

Employer Obligations

Shipping operators using our placement services are responsible for providing accurate vessel details, contract terms, and any specialist requirements at the time of the crew brief. Placements made on the basis of materially inaccurate information may result in early contract termination at the operator's cost.

Limitation of Liability

Costa del Alba provides crew placement and training services in good faith. We are not liable for events on board vessels following placement, or for third-party acts by operators or seafarers. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for negligence causing death or personal injury, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising from them.
